Orchestra Coaching by Kristjan Järvi

Congratulations to the Diocesan Boys' School's orchestra for winning the Championship in the Symphony Orchestra Class (Senior) of the 70th Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association 2018.



A rare opportunity for a Hong Kong secondary school orchestra to be coached by one of the leading conductors – Kristjan Järvi, who will be visiting HK on 10 Mar 2018. In this orchestra masterclass, Maestro Järvi will work with the young musicians from the winning orchestra, i.e. Diocesan Boys' School's orchestra, giving students a rare chance to learn and hear this world-class conductor sharing his innovative approach to music and conducting.


Repertoire: Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No. 9, "From the New World", 4th Movement (Allegro Con Fuoco)


About Kristjan Järvi


Acclaimed Estonian born conductor Kristjan Järvi has a wide-ranging musical passion, famous for curating original projects and conducting commissioned works by Arvo Pärt and Heinz Karl Gruber, Järvi is a dynamic and imaginative conductor who has led and advised several major orchestras.
